ネットワーク全体とそれを構成するネットワーク技術の信頼性が重要視され
るようになって久しい．このような信頼性を検証・担保するために，さまざ
まなネットワーク実験が行われており，活発に議論が行われている．我々は
これまでに，特に実環境上で利用されるハードウェアおよびソフトウェアそ
のものを用いた検証に着目し，大規模な汎用ネットワークテストベッドであ
るStarBEDを用いてさまざまな検証を行ってきた．
本稿では，特にネットワークテストベッドに着目し，ネットワーク実験用の
環境の要素や特性と，現在，運用されているネットワークテストベッドやネッ
トワーク実験用のツール群の適用範囲をまとめ，未来のネットワークテスト
ベッドのあるべき姿を探る．
summary: | As network technologies have been infiltrated into our
daily life, reliability of networks and technologies which compose
them is important. In order to guarantee them to be safe, various
network experiments are performed and researchers discuss these
methodologies to improve them. We have developed and managed
StarBED; large-scale general purpose network testbed which enables
to verify actual hardware and software implementations for real
environments such as the Internet.
In this paper, we describe characteristics and components of network
experiments and supported areas by existing network
testbeds. Finally, we discuss the future of network testbed
researches and result of them.
