その重要性は高まり続けている．
インターネットの成長は，新たな技術の導入によりもたらされており，
そしてインターネットの成長が新たな技術の開発を促している．
このような環境の中では，
インターネットのような実運用ネットワークに導入する技術の検証が重要視
されるようになって来ており，
現在も数多くの検証のための技術が提案・利用されている．
このような検証手法はそれぞれその目的などにより，
対象となる実験が異なる．
本論文では，
まずネットワーク実験の性質についてまとめ，
既存のアプローチで支援が可能な工程および，
今後の研究開発の課題になる項目についてまとめる．
summary: | Network technologies including Internet are used widely in our life,
and there are many critical services especially in the Internet.
The growth of the Internet is sustained by new technologies and
researches of new network technologies are encouraged by the growth.
Evaluations of new technologies are indispensable to introduce new
technologies onto the current Internet.
There are many approaches to conduct network experiments and their
coverage is different depending on their purposes and so forth.
We describe these approaches and the coverage of them,
and then we discuss open issues in this field.
